Direct Transfer to Voice Mail - 9611G Desktop Phone 1

We use Avaya 9611G desk phones in my office and I want to be able to transfer incoming calls directly to other colleagues' voice mail. Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated! Thanks.

So far I've unsuccessfully tried the following.

"While active on a call, press the envelope button you normally press to retrieve your own messages. You will be prompted to enter your colleague's extension number, then press the Select soft button to confirm."

That will dial directly into the mailbox
