How can I make it so a caller doesn't have to use *8 (*t) to dial an extension from night auto attendant? I would like the caller to be able to "dial the extension at any time". I'm using merlin legend mail r1 v1.0.3. Thanks.

I haven't worked with a MLM in a while, but you should be able to go into the night auto attendant menu through system administrator menu (I think it's option 3). Choose the Night menu, and then the modify option (I believe it is 6). From there you will need to modify the selector code which corresponds to your extension range (i.e. if your extensions are in the 200 range then you need to modify selector code 2.). Set that selector code to "transfer directly to an extension" and you should be all set. make sure that you follow the prompts to save the changes and skip re-recording a new greeting (unless you need to modify it of course.) Hope this helps.

Worked like a charm. Thank you very much. If it's in a manual I must of missed it, but this seems kind of like a custom programming thing. Thanks again.

As an addendum, be sure Merlin Messaging is set to the proper number of digits for the extensions in your office (i.e., our office uses three digit extensions and for the life of me, I couldn't figure out why it would stop at two when I entered an extension number until I found the setting for maximum extension length). :)
