Thinking that it was a problem with my IE browser,I posted this question in the browser forum. However the reply, along with the info provided by the 404 error message, makes me think it might belong here.
"Using IE 6, entering into the Address field, the direct path to a .pmf file, causes the map reader to open and display the map. If I enter the URL for the same file, I get a 404 message saying it can't find the file. If I do the same thing with a .pdf file in the same folder, the adobe reader opens and displays the document using both methods.
What could be causing this?"
It was suggested that there is a problem with permission to the .pmf extension and the 404 message talked about IIS configuration changes. Also, a some of the existing threads that appared in a search seemed to indicate changes in IIS.
If this is, indeed, an IIS problem, what changes might be needed and how can I make them?
