Current setup: Multiple servers running Windows Server 2000/2003 (Non-Virtual). CX500 mirrored to a DR Site. I've been asked to find a way to take a, or several, VMWare servers to the DR Site have multiple Windows images up and running so in case of a disaster I can hand the mirrored LUNS to a VM machine and keep going. Is this even possible? How do I keep VM from formatting, writing disk signatures, rewriting the file system etc. when I promote the mirrors and try to hand over access?

you can have direct access to LUNs from a virtual machine, but you can't have those LUNs assigned to the VM, because a remote mirror in CX500 can't be in a storage group while they are a secundary mirror. In order to have access to the secundary mirrors you need to fracture the mirror, assign it to a Storage Group (where VMWare lives) and then assign the LUNs to the VM as a new disk device (using direct access), but with the VM off.

Cheers.
