Direct input 6 for VB

Hi,
I'm trying to monitor all keyboard presses (just to count them) on a system even when my app is minimised in the background, I have it working with Direct X 8 thanks to the microsoft demo code, but I can't find any help on doing it in DX6 and my target audience isn't likely to have DX8.

well, found the answer, just use the win 32 SDK.
