I have installed a Merin Magix phone system (latest release) a doctor's office and I need to program the phones outside the exam rooms to intercom any one of the 4 rooms independently with the push of a button.

I have programmed 4 buttons on each nurse's phone outside the exam rooms to ring the exam room extensions (indepenantly room by room ext 103,104,105 & 106).

My problem is this: The nurses out side the exam rooms need to be able to direct extension intercom the exam rooms with the mute buttons off on the phones. As I have it programmed (at the moment) it only rings the rooms - when I did get the system to intercom the rooms the nurses could talk to the doctor but in order for the doctor to respond he had to press the mute button in order for them to nurses to hear his response.

Example: the doctor is in exam room 1, he is with a patent and the nurse has a call for him. They want to be able to press the exam room button (programmed on the 4412d) for the room the doctor is in and the phone beeps and the nurse asks her question and the doctor can respond with out stopping his examination to press the mute button in order to activate the speaker phone mic.

Please let me know what steps I need to follow in order to get this programmed..

Thanks John

Add an HFAI (Hands Free Answer on Intercom) button to the phones in the exam rooms, and turn them ON. Then when the phone beeps and the nurse's voice comes out of the speaker, the doctor will be able to reply hands-free.

Ok, I think I got it now. Someone else was nice enough to respond and tell me to add the hands free button so I did that but, I'm embarrassed to say I did not realize how to use it until you just examined it.

So what you're saying is all the button then press the button to turn the feature on and then when the nurse beeps in the mic will be on. - Great thanks.
