hi all. does any one have an idea on how to implement direct
data transfer between two h70 servers via a null modem
connected to the serial interfaces?. i would prefare this to either manual tape / network (rcp) due to the volume involved (up to 2 GButes data)

The time taken to transfer 2GB of data at 115kb (that's roughly 10kB/sec) is hours and hours and hours. 2GB over a network will be substantially quicker - can you not just choose a quiet time to do the transfer?

Or install a pair of NICs just for these transfers... I'll set up a new interfaces just for that is a quiet time is not possible and the transfer are big
I hope it works...
Unix was made by and for smart people.
