E-mail me if you know of any little known events and/or methods, etc.

Well if you really want a realiable connection between two PC, I would go out buy 2 10Mbit Ethernet NIC, (and possible a HUB, which is much easier than crosswiring), and connect them together, if they both have TCP/IP installed, and they are both on the same workgroup, they should see each other in the Network Neighborhood for starters.
Karl
kb244@kb244.8m.com
<a href=
Experienced in : C++(both VC++ and Borland),VB1(dos) thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, HTML, Visual InterDev 6(ASP(WebProgramming/Vbscript)
However,

If your just looking to get the job done, go to download.com and search for the "Fast PC Linker." It's fast and it's easy. Nice GUI. All you'll need is to install it on both PCs, and a null-modem cable.

Good Luck ~

where do you grab a null modem cable?
I have a co-worker who would just rather transfer a file over from time to time, but doesnt want to network them, then again he says it would be nice if he could share internet between them(which would require at least a NIC/Hub and a proxy serveR)
Karl
kb244@kb244.8m.com
<a href=
Experienced in : C++(both VC++ and Borland),VB1(dos) thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, HTML, Visual InterDev 6(ASP(WebProgramming/Vbscript)
A few years ago, before I got network smart ;), I searched high and low for null modem cables. The only place I could get one was from a local computer store and the had to order it. I do recall that older versions of pc anywhere came with the null modem cables (both 25 and 9 pin). You may be able to find null modem cables online somewhere, but I think it is cheaper to get two 10Mbit nics and a hub.

fenris
fenris@hotmail.com

Wow, thanks.

all your answers are helpfull.
theEclipse
eclipse_web@hotmail.com
robacarp.webjump.com
**-Trying to build a documentation of a Javascript DOM, crossbrowser, of course. You may need to be sure that both PC's are in the same workgroup or domain. Go to Ctl Panel, and Network Icon, and under the Identification tab, you can change the Workgroup. Both PC's would have to be in the same Workgroup in order to communicate...much like PC's in the same Domain on a closed network.

DBE (Techno-geek)
