Hello,

I have been able to configure the Diva Sever Card to emulate NT and configure the PRI card on the IPO as a normal connection to a Telco.

The conection seems to be working ok, except the connection between both cards keeps going up and down. Can not hold a connection more than 2 seconds.

I have tested both IPO PRI card and Diva Sever card when connected to PRI directly and working fine.

Note that I have created a cross over cable and made sure that they were crossed correctly 1/2 & 4/5.

The connection keeps going on and off. Could it be a voltage issue? As I can also hear a clicking noise on all of the phones on the IPO side, when the connection is made.

Any ideas? Thank you.

The clicking sugests a posible frame synchronisation problem

What is the clock quality set to on the 2nd pri card?

It is set to Network.

Thanks for your interest in this matter )

I would change it to either fall back or not suitable
only the main pri circuit should be set to network

I've now changed the clock quality to "Not Suitable" and "Full Back". However, I still have the up and down every three seconds and a cliking sound.

Any other ideas?

hmm, I am now working in the dark, but you could try setting the line signaling to CO, this looks like a new setting in V2.1 to make the Pri emulate the network

I have never used it myself, but it is worth a go.
acombination of these settings & those on the Diva should hopefully get thing working

Otherwise it looks like it is over to morrack

Thank you IPGuru for all your help.

Unfortunately, I have tried your suggestions and I am still getting connection up and down.

I will try next to connect a direct ground to the IP office units.

Someone from AVAYA suggested that I connect pass the connection through a DSU/CSU. I will try this tomorrow.

Any other suggestions from anyone else is welcomed.

I was able to make it work by changing the config on the Avaya PRI card.

I selected the DSU box (Which is on the 2.1 (15) version.
Then I also, slected CO for the Line Signalling.
However, I left the Clock Quality at Networked.

I can now receive faxes going to the Fax Server, with the short code giving to me by IPGuru:

However, when I reverse the shortcode and I setup an incoming call route as follows:

Line Group ID: 1 (which is the line group for the PRI card going to the Fax Server Card)

Incoming Number: (Left Blank)

Destination: FAX_out (short code pointing all calls to go through the primary PRI card connected to the Telco PRI)

Bearer Capability is set to Any.

When I attempt to send a telephone call by dialing 9 first, Avaya passing the digits to the PRI.

1 obvious solution is to NOT dial 9 from the fax.

Otherwise try a LINE short code of 9N, number N feature Dial.

Again I havnt tested this so keep experimenting & good luck
