Is there a way to add a direct cable link to my 10/100 network? I get alot of older systems and laptops without cd roms in for repairs. I need to find a fast easy way to add software.
R & G Computers
rafales@carnegienet.net

You'd have to install a network client etc. to even think of connecting dsirectly to a netwrok. Set up a desktop system contected to your network and transfer software to it as needed. Direct cable link to the desktop system for downloads.
Jeff
masterracker@hotmail.com

Of all the things I've lost in life, I miss my mind the most ...

Thanks, I have a IBM PS1 25mhz with a cd. I'll set it up. Better yet, maybe an ext. cd rom!
R & G Computers
rafales@carnegienet.net

If you use an external CD, then once again you will need to install drivers on every laptop you work on. The direct cable connection, at least, doesn't leave any junk behind on the machine.
Jeff
masterracker@hotmail.com

Of all the things I've lost in life, I miss my mind the most ...

I was playing around last night and hooked up a direct cable to my network server. The guess could only see DC host and not entire network, I got the main network running Wingate, for internet sharing, and now I have DC and RJ-45. It was nice last night I was downloading Winbrench on 1, my wife was downloading Netscape4.72-56bit on 2, my son was surfing on 3, and I was loading Corel on DC at the same time.
R & G Computers
rafales@carnegienet.net
