I have a Windows XP Laptop and a Window 2000 Professional Desktop. They belong to different domains. I have connected the two with a parallel data transfer cable with the desktop as the host and the laptop as guest. I am able to connect and can see icons in the taskbar on both that I am connected. However I can not reach the shared directories on the host using \\computername\sharedfolder. I get a message that the directories are not available.

Can anyone help?
