DIP switch on BCM 50

Hi everyone,
Im coming from the Avaya world and now change for Nortel...
I install a BCM 400 without any problems but to be honest, i have problem to understand the way the DIP switch are working.this my first BCM 50 and a have a expansion for a DSM 16 but don't know how to set the DIP switch.
Please I need a hand
