I'm obviously an OLAP newbie.
I'm working through the examples in "Step by Step: MSSQL 2000 Analysis Services". I've reached chapter 4, where they want you to build a forecasting cube.
So I build a scenario dimension. The instructions in the book tell me to set the Write-Enabled property to "True".
Problem: There is no "write enabled" property.
What could be wrong? I followed the directions to the letter... about 6 times from scratch.
It's basically a parent-child schema based on a Scenario table that consists of three fields: Scenario_ID, Scenario, Parent_ID.
The data source is from an MDB... but I tried the same thing using SQL as the data source and still didn't get a Write Enabled option.
The only thing I can think of is that maybe I installed Analysis Services incorrectly?
Please help me out here.
