Dim db As Database = error: "user defined type not defined"??

i am trying to set some db properties but i keep getting the above error: "user defined type not defined"

any ideas??? ] always a sucker to the greatest lie of all: will only take a minute [
 
I suspect that you have a missing Reference

Dim db As Database is a DAO term and if you're now working in Access 2000 or 2k2 with standard set-up then you'll have the ADO refernces but not the old DAO ones.

In the code window open the Tools, References dialogue box and make sure that the "Microsoft DAO 3.6 Object Library" is ticked.
