I'm looking for a procedure that will allow extension swaps from Digital station to a VoIP station without Rebooting the phone system. Same for swapping extension between Digital stations without physically moving cables. The key I'm looking for is not to habe to reboot. My locations are hospitals and cant be rebooted every time a extension is swapped. Software version is 11.0.4.3.0 build 3

For digital sets change the ext on the port and then have both exts dial *36. I don't recall if that will also swap IP to digital, but it might.

Hot desk has the disadvantage that the stations will revert to the base extension on a reboot. Or at least they did at lower versions. I haven't tested it on R11.

Explain the scenario better. If its people frequently working from different places, that's exactly what hot desking is for.

If its a permanent(ish) swap of extensions then unregister the IP phone. Swap the extensions numbers for the digital extension, reregister the IP phone.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

you don't need to reboot. Just change the extension number in the extension tab and do a login on the phone. It will not come back after a reboot if you switch it in manager.
