Our company uses crystal reports to produce legal documents that we send to county offices around the nation. Some counties have started allowing “electronic” document submissions and these electronic documents require a digital signature. That’s a certificate that’s embedded in your browser that inserts an encrypted “tag” or string on an email or other electronic file validating that it came from a specific sender, as opposed to a digitized signature which is a graphic or facsimile image of someone’s signature.
I know that crystal can export to a pdf file or possibly an rtf. Does anyone know if the pdf file or rtf file retains the database tags or fieldnames so that a digital signature could be tied to a specific field of the form? (Our forms require more than one signature and the digital sigs would have to be tied to specific names on the forms.
Any info about this would be helpful.
