Digital Signatures / Encryption Problem

Hi. I am having some difficulty setting up digital signatures and SMIME encryption.

Internally, I can send/receive signatures and encryption fine. The problem is that if I send a digitally signed message outside to another domain, the recipient is unable to access the digital signature or obtain the public key from the signature.

I've got Tay Kratzers book, but honestly there are a bunch of obvious errors in this particular section and it seems to cut short of explaining some of the stuff that I really need.

Any ideas are appreciated.

You have to export the public key from windows.
go to the internet options, click on the content tab, click on certificates, click on the certificate to export, click export, follow the wizard.
Give this key to the other party, do the same but import it.
It's a royal pain but works.

There may be an easier way but this is the only way I know.
