Digital Mobility Repeater problem

I have been trying to add repeater to existing BCM 400 with Digital Mobility controller for wireless phones. The install guide makes it look simple to program a repeater, but even after purchasing the special kit for programming the repeater I am still getting write errors when trying to program the repeater. Has any one experienced this? Does anyone have any tricks? Thanks

Make sure the repeater number is 66 higher than the basestation number.

The repeater is still giving me fits. I have done every thing I know to make this work. Even tried programming it while standing almost directly under the base station. The repeater and base station number are right according to the installation guide. Still getting error that I can't write to the repeater. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

The first time I tried to install a repeater I had the same problem but I honestly cannot remember what I did to get it done. You aren't using a null modem adapter correct? Also, are you trying to use a USB to serial to connect to your computer?

I have tried a null modem cable just to see if it made any difference. I am using USB to serial connection on my computer.
