Hi Everyone

Ive got a norstar with a DMC080 for the wireless phones for one of my clients.

Im trying to register a new wireless handset. Ive got the DMC software as well. I am using a usb to serial dongle to connect a female to female serial cable to the DMC080 but when I start the program and configure it to my usb port COM3, the programs says not connected. I know com3 is functional to the USB port as I can see it idle in device managers on my computer.

it doesnt seem to pick up from the serial cable onwards to the DMC080.

My question is, do I need an actual Null Modem Cable as per the Digital Mobility Controller guide? or will i need an IP to serial converter?

I have a feeling its the female to female serial cable. It doesnt sale null modem cable on it so im not sure if it has to be specific in this case.

any help is appreciated

thanks!

You've answerd your own question. Be certain the cable from the USB dongle is a null.

bought a null cable and it worked, it wouldnt respond to changing or deleting the old programming. At the bottom left it says "Log is Running"

Left it for about 5-10 minutes and still the same.
