I had a JVC Digital Camcorder for Xmas and have tried to install it on my PC. I have followed the instructions that came with the softare and installed the drivers sucessfully. Also the digital program,'Image Maker'.
The instructions that came with the camcorder are a bit scant but I've done my best. For example it doesn't say whether or not the camcorder should be switched on. Presumably yes?
The system wont recognise the camcorder, which is connected via a USB2 hub, so I'm stuck.
Has anyone any ideas please? Thanks.

Camera should be (ON) in VCR (or Play) mode. You should here the USB tone from Windows if it recognizes the device and it should set it up automatically. You might also try connecting the camera directly (skipping the hub) to see if that works.

Hope it helps.

Wow JT that almost looked like you knew what you were doing!

I have a JVC MiniDV Digital Camcorder also. The USB2 connection on mine is used only to download snapshots from the SD card. I have to hook the camcorder to a Firewire port (IEEE 1394) to download any videos. My camcorder is about 2 yrs old so maybe things have changed. You may also want to check this link to JVC support's FAQ out, maybe it will answer your questions.

Hope this helped....
