I bought the Logitech z-5500 digital speaker set...
I want to hook it up to my Sharp AQUOS TV...

I am pretty new at this. The Logitech speakers came with a cord with black/green/orange plugs on it....they fit perfectly to the back of my computer BUT i want to hook this system up to my TV.

I read through the manuals and it seems that my TV has a "Digital Audio Output". So here's the question --

What cord do I need to buy to connect the two for digital audio? (neither came with a cord for this).

PS - another audio question (I wont waste another thread for this one) what input/output goes with the music note? There is a square piece of plastic (it looks like it will come off but I dont want to touch it yet) with a musical note symbol above it. What is this?

Most computer speakers don't come with a digital input. So the digital output from your home stereo or DVD player has nowhere to plug in on the speakers. This makes sense since computer speaker manufacturers assume that your PC will do the Dolby Digital decoding, so there's no reason to include a built-in decoder. There are some speakers that have it built-in for that very reason of making them compatible for home stereos, but not many models do. I haven't looked at the z-5500 specs.

I would imagine there are sound cards on PC's that have this input, so that you could leave the speakers connected to the PC and buy the right add-in. But then you'd have to ask yourself if it's really worth the effort? Probably best to buy a separate set for your home stereo if possible.

arrrrrrrrgh

I wanted to use these for my home stereo. The only other thing I have is a BOSE wave radio. it's tiny and space saving (which is why I wanted this for the bedroom, and the 5.1 surround logitech for the living room). Guess I'm screwed.

If anyone can tell me otherwise....
