I have a digit translation in my system so that when I dial a number that begins with 356, it automatically dials out to 354, which is what my CO would prefer. (356-2544 gets translated to outbound 354-2544)

Is there a way in assistant to view the translations and adjust them, or do I have to go through AMO?

If I have to use AMO, what command?

It is probably in Configuration - Tables - Dial Plan - Number Conversion, but I have never done it on a 4000, only on 9006, and that appears different.

Once you get there first hit search without entering anything to see if it shows you everything. If it says nothing found try entering your "356" into first the internal digits box, and then the external digits box to see if you find it. I would assume the result will be that 356 is in the internal box and 354 is in the external, but like I said I've never done it, and mine doesn't have any entries for me to look at. The Assistant help file is usually a good resource once you get onto the screen you want to work from.

That pulled up the inward translations, but not outbound. :-(

How do I see outgoing digit translations?

I think outgoing stuff you have to do through LDPLN, etc. You would create the digit string that someone is dialing and then you create an outdial rule (ODR) so that it replaces the 356 with 354. Something like this, but I am going to get the field numbers wrong because I always have to look them up. I think country code is 1, Area code is 2, CO code is 3 and last 4 digits is 4 - but don't shoot me if that's wrong.

You would have an ldpln or two, such as:

NXX-356-XXXX

AND/OR

356-XXXX

And then in the first case you have something like:

ECHO 2
ECHO 354
ECHO 4
END

And in the second case it would look like:

ECHO 354
ECHO 4
END

That is a VERY generalization type of thing without me actually sitting down and looking at it, and there's more to it than that.

Thank you VERY MUCH!

I sent the AMO DISP-LODR, then returned to my comfort zone in the Asssistant and made the change I needed.
Much appreciated!
