I am trying to automate the entry to an IVR system that invites the caller to "dial the extension of the person you want to speak to". I have set up a DSC which is 7 digits long, 3 for site code and four for extension. I have used a DMI to delete the first 3 and add the PSTN number to get to the IVR. I want my Meridian to pause long enough for the IVR to answer then dial the last four numbers IE the local extension
I have tried using * (several different amounts) in the insert section of the DMI but that does not work.
Does anyone know of any other method by which this could be made to work or how pauses can be added
Thanks
Steve

Could you use the "Speed Call Directory Number Access" feature. Speed calls will allow you to enter a * as a pause.

You need to programming in the route the prompt OPR to YES. In this moment the PBX recognize the pause (*) used in the dmi tables. Good nice

Write me to know the result to janchundia@hotmail.com or javier.anchundia@gruein.com

Assuming you are using extn ports to connect to your IVR, I don't think you can do this. When the IVR answers, the Meridian sees the call as terminated & won't send any more digits. You would get the same problem dialling in on a DISA with PRA.
