Hi, is there a way to say take off the first two digits off of incoming line ie 22 1234 and make the 22 light a lamp on extension 1234? thank you for any help.

Pretty sure that once you remove digits on a DID call, they are gone.

Why would you need the lamp to light? Most sets already light up with an incoming call. Are you trying use the "22" as a feature access code for message waiting activation?

hi, thank you for writing. I am integrating the meridian and the mitel. Problem is that I dont have the right version of software on the option 11 for qsig to work properly. I need a way to turn on and off the lights to the mitel. All routing goes through the opt 11. What I have done is mapped the option 11 extension to the route the mitel is on. If the phone is not answered I want it to call forward to the meridian mail system which then has 22 xxxx on the light indication field (field that allows other phone lights to light up if message left on mailbox). 22 is then mapped to route to mitel which then needs to be a feature access code. I had it working the other day but Bell and Mitel changed things and now it doesnt work. Also, I need to find a way to turn off the light from the option 11 to the mitel phone. Any help is appreciated.AJK

If you are using the 22 as a feature access code on the tie trunk between the two systems, why do you need to remove the digits? If you were able to get the Meridian to activate the message light on the Mitel sets, then you should be able to cancel the light the same way.

Is it the Mitel that is not working or is it the Meridian. If the process was working before, what changes were made after. Were those changes made to fix other problems to get over the software defeciencies in the Meridian? If so, then I would consider upgrading the Meridian. It is almost always best tech practice to keep your phone systems up to date for software. I know that Mitel software upgrades are free, you just pay for the labour of a tech to do it. Not sure about the software for the Meridian.

Hi, thank you for your help. At first it was the meridian not working properly in terms of the caller info being sent and mitel was sending caller info to meridian. Now its the other way around. Changes were made because the meridian wasnt sending caller id over the linking PRI. I dont know what mitel did and the fellow is gone. He told us not to call him for help!! I worked with the Mitel fellow initally and sent him the digits which I inserted prior to the extension. He mapped the digits to turning the light on which I dont know how to do. He left and now it doesnt work. Where does a person map digits to a feature on the mitel and what field controls caller display outbound on a tie trunk. Upgrades on the meridian cost money and I dont think we really need it as caller id is going through from the nortel. The upgrade was to fix that issue. Thank you for your help.AJK

Sounds like you need the Mitel technician back. If you bought the Mitel from a Mitel Dealer then they should have certified techs that can work on the specific problem and there is no reason for them not to support you. If you bought from Mitel directly then Mitel should be supporting you whether it is by phone or sending their technician back.

Hi, thank you for writing. Yes, I definitely need a technician handbook! I have a conference call with the fellows boss tomorrow. In my mind if it worked correctly each way, even if not simultaneous, it is a configuration issue. thank you again ajk
