Digit Manipulation on the BCM platform

Good Day,

I am from the meridian side of the family and I am use to doing BARS/NARS programming to manipulate digits and route them accordingly. How is this achieved on the BCM platform. I see where you can absorb digits and so i can delete a leading digit, but suppose I want to insert another leading digit? How do I do that?

Please, any help is appreciated.

Hi

To change digits you need to create a route and then under the route you will see the word external. This is were you set the digit manipulation.

As you stated under destination codes you can tell the system how much you want to take of the destination code.

Marshall

What are you trying to do?

Also keep in mind that there is not any type of IDC table on the BCM, so you're at the mercy of the telco as far as incoming numbers go. Marshall is correct regarding outbound - you can add digits in the routes.

Thanks for the reply. You asked what I was doing. I have the two sites connected via ITG card. I have a VOIP international calling solution integrated to the Option 11C. I want the users on the BCM to be able to place international calls using the service connected to the Option 11. So I want to manipulate the digits so that when a user on the BCM dials an international number it converts the digits to trigger my NARS programming on the Option and route the call to the correct route and trunk.

That would be a matter of routing the international calls from the BCM to a route that is connected to the IP trunks. For example, build a route (route 10 for example). Point that route towards your IP trunks (Pool J for example). Set a destination code of 90, and point that towards route 10. You may need to build a public dialing prefix of 90 with the appropriate number of digits (same concept as FLEN in the M1). As long as the BCM sends the 9 in addition to the 01XXX, you should be all set once it hits the 11.
