Hi - I am trying to set it up so that if anyone dials a specific number in the 7xxx range that the calls route out to an external number. I have been playing with the aar/ars digit conversion tables and the UDP but not getting anywhere.

Example: dial 7000, call routes to 01234 567890
dial 7001, call routes to 01234 987654
and so on..

7 is set to ext in the dialplan but is currently unused. I know I could create x port stations and use call forward but there are about 50 of these and I don't want all those spare station on the switch.

The reason I am trying to do this is that we have recently aquired a new office (no phone system) where they all use ddi's but they want our office to be able to be able to dial an office extension to get through to them until we can add them onto our system.

I may be going about this in the wrong direction so any alternative suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

We have setup something similsr to be able to dial 8+office number to shortdial to the cellphone number.
Our 8 with 5 digits is setup as ext.

In the AAR digit conversion all that is neccesary is to define the extension, its min max length, number of digits to delete (all), replacement string. Net set to AAR and conversion set to yes.
All this should be enough so far I can see.

Good luck,

John

It is much easier to do this if you can keep the last 3 or 4 digits consistant with the short-dial number.

So to get 01234 567890 you dial 7890 etc.

Then you can use 1 route pattern for all the 7XXX calls and just insert the digits 0123456.

It is quite strange - if I setup the aar digit conversion table and in the replacement string enter a 4 digit extension number when I dial the 7xxx number I can see the call try and dial out hit a trunk group (get busy tone). If I use an external number i just get a dead tone and a denial on the calling station (no dinial info).
Here is the current setup... I'm sure I can't be far wrong!!!

AAR DIGIT CONVERSION TABLE
Percent Full: 23

Matching Pattern Min Max Del Replacement String Net Conv ANI Req

7100 4 4 4 901234567890 aar y n

UNIFORM DIAL PLAN TABLE
Percent Full: 0

Matching Insert
Pattern Len Del Digits Net Conv
7100 4 0 aar y

In your AAR DIGIT CONVERSION TABLE you should have Net: ars

Otherwise it is looking for another AAR entry to match 901234567890. Oh, and take the 9 off. It has already gone to ARS so you don't need your ARS Access Code.
