Hard phones (i200x) mark the voice packets as DSCP 46 by default. You can use the QOS fields in the BCM to mark voice packets out of the BCM as 46 as well.
Typically in a BCM environment, I build a filter in the data switch that remarks voice packets from the BCM as 46, since I don't quite trust the BCM marking it itself. In the CS1000 world, the values are marked by the equipment, so I honor the DSCP value from the equipment.
Biv343,
Thanks. I found the setup in the Succession 3.0 and I will look for it now in the BCM. I am concerned about having the external devices mark all traffic as VoIP as any future multimedia applications may require a more fine grained setting of DSCP.
Signed TDM learning Data as data won't learn phones.
