I'm using Excel 2000 (on a Windows 2000 platform) and I want to use a ProgressBar in my VBA project. I have navigated to Tools->Additional Controls in the VB Editor and have checked the Microsoft ProgressBar Control. It then appeared in my component toolbox, I dropped it on a form and the following message appeared: "The control could not be created because it is not properly licensed". I clicked the Help button provided to try and understand what this means and a blank help page appeared!

Can anyone help?

Your assistance would be much appreciated!

That doesn't sound very good, does it?!

How about making your own progress bar? You might even get a Blue Peter badge for it.

Do two labels, with no text. Make them the same height, but two different colours and overlay them. Make the length of one label 0. Now as your loop progresses, increase the width of your label by a proportional amount.

Tomorrow's project will be to build your own space station from which to zap Bill Gates' butt. Using some pipe cleaners, lego and lots and lots of silver foil.

lol...you're a joker Bryan!

Seriously tho - is there no way to get access to this component?

Your idea, Bryan, is a good workaround. However, the width of my ProgressBar Label doesn't update while all the processing is going on. Any ideas?

All sorted now - I needed to include a DoEvents so you could see the width updating. I modified your suggestion slightly and used a label within a frame, both with same height. The beauty of using a label to do this is that you can also print some text using the label's caption to tell the user exactly what processing is going on!

Cheers Bryan - a star for a very helpful suggestion.

I don't have a clue about how to get access to MSN's progress bar component but I'm glad that you got the progress bar thing sorted.
