Is there some way (like it was in Excel 97) to add a hidden worksheet to an existing excel file with information on what cell was updated by who and when ?

i.o.w. let me see what has been changed by who, when and what cell.

Excel 97 had to call a dll file and therefore for security reasons that formula has been left out in 2000 and 2002.

If you can give me a formula or VBA code I would appreciate it !

Tools >> Track Changes >> Highlight Changes. Click "Track changes while editing", but uncheck "Highlight changes onscreen".

Cheers,

Thanks ! it worked, but how long does it hold that information in the sheet ?

And is it also possible to do it by formula ?

Thanks again !

It will hold it in the file until the file is deleted -- or unless someone unchecks that Track Changes box.

However, if they uncheck that box, then you know the document's been corrupted and you can supply a restored copy from your archive.

I don't know if it'll work on formulas. You should try and see and report back. [wink]

Cheers,
