Hi, our cluster of two VMCDs and three physical 3300s are all running MCD 6 and we're stuck there because of the per cab support. We've moved 3000 IP extensions to the virtuals and have approx. 900 TDM Supersets and ONS on the physicals. We need to get the VMs back up to a supported load and want to deploy some new 69 series handsets to replace a portion of the remaining TDM extensions but can't do this all at once. Can we upgrade the VMs to MCD 8 or above, leave the 3300s at MCD6 and still have them clustered? Alternatively is there a way to split the cluster in two but retain some of the cluster features or what would we loose?

Thank you,
John.

We have customers running release 8.0 on 3300 controllers using peripheral cabinets in clusters with no issues. These clusters consist of both vMiVB and MXe III controllers. The customers understand that there is no peripheral cabinet/digital phone set support from Mitel and plan to migrate to all IP at some point. You can take all systems to release 8.0 and start using the 69xx series IP phones. Release 8.0 still has all the programming required to support the connection of peripheral cabinets. Release 9.0 is whee Mitel removed that support.

Thanks SXWizard that sounds like a good option, best of both worlds and no hassle.
Thanks,
John.
