Differential SCSI DLT DRIVE

Im trying to set up a DLt drive with SCSI on AIX .4.3.3
When I connect the drive the machine wont boot up.
Any ideas welcome!I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

check the SCSI id of the disc and make sure it does not clash with the SCSI id's of any of the existing devices.
