Just for fun, I thought I'd check out some of the different window managers out there, just for a change from CDE. I downloaded and installed the Gnome 2 Beta from the Sun site - works well, but kind of a hog. That was a Sun package, so it went in easily. Now, I've downloaded and built "fvwm" just for fun, but don't know how to enable it. With the Gnome install, they added "Gnome" as a choice of sessions on my login screen - anyone have any idea how to do that? Or, even how to start "fvwm" rather than CDE on bootup?

Thanks
Rick

i am not aware if this will work is solaris, but in irix i generally put a .xsession file in the user's home directory.
the .xsession file generally contains the line of the form

" /usr/bin/gnomesession "

change it with the path for your windows manager. Thief................ ::)
