Hello,

I got a request from a customer of mine wanting lines to ring at different times of the day on a certain extension. I know I can achieve this with a cics/mics but I'm not sure if it can be done on Dr5 sft. Has anyone ever done this on a 8x24?

The Modular DR5 software has Service Modes, the equivalent of the Ringing Service on the ICS platform. It is under B. General Admin > 6. Service Modes.

Here are the main differences:
[ul]
[li]With Service Modes, there are 3 schedules (instead of 6).[/li]
[li]With Service Modes, you specify the list of ringing telephones for each line (instead of creating Ring Groups).[/li]
[li]Service Modes are turned on and off using Feature 87 (instead of Feature 871).[/li]
[/ul]

Keep in mind when setting this up, that any line programmed to ring on a phone will always ring regardless of the active service mode. Just like Ringing Service on the ICS Service Modes can only add phones to those already programmed in Day Mode.
