Hi, I'm running a site with one access database which is acessible via two domain names. One of the dominan names points to the html folder in the root directory (as usual), and the other name points to a directory within my html folder. E.g:

Occasionally when I get a few vistors (like 10 or more), my site grinds to a halt using the first address, but when I try accessing via the second (which is the least used domain name) it is fine.

Does anyone know where my problem lies? I thought it might be in the code (I'm not a programmer, but I have dabbled a bit), but if the same code works using another root into the site what does this mean?

Someone suggested it may be something to do with the global.asa file (of which I seem to have a few - but one 1 in each directory, as some of the directorys are not used).

Please help!!

Don't know how you have it set up, but you could create a virtual web site to that subfolder under the main domain name and have that second one point to it. If you don't have more than one IP address, you can use host headers (if you don't know about them, let me know)

What are you're hardware spec's? In your web site properties you also have a setting for allowing a maximum amount of connections at any given time for a particular site, make sure that isn't set to some really low number unless you have a very unpowerfull machine running the sites. If they are set for 10 though, it won't let more than 10 users connect to that site, but the other site would be available. Make sense? Don't know if that's it...just a possibility. -Ovatvvon :-Q
