Different ring for different lines?

Nortel M7310...can I set different lines to ring differently?

depends on the ksu that you have. later versions allow up to 4 different ring signals.

Distinctive Ring Preference has some limitations and drawbacks, for instance: IF you assign a distinctive ring to a line, it takes up one of the only 4 ring signals available systemwide on the Norstar system. I find that many customers like to put lines that require priority over others onto a central set and change the ring tone provided to that set. This has the advantage of letting you hear a distinctive ring for more than one line via the ring tone assigned to the set.
As another poster mentioned, distinctive ring only works on more recent versions of Norstar software. The trick I have just now mentioned works on ANY Norstar system.
Also, if a centrally located set is not practical, an M7100 set can be rigged to the paging system. Naturally group pickup is useful in this scenario.
