Hello;

We have an IP Office 500 V2 with VM Pro and I need to set up different ring tone on a hunt group.
The phones that we have are T7208 and T7316 and I set up the option under System>Telephony>RingTones but no change. Could you please advise ?

Thanks,

Ring tones in a Hunt Group can only be altered for Avaya phones. With Nortel phones the only ring tone adjustment is through the phone itself and you cannot distinguish HG calls.

Thanks, which Avaya phones should I get ?

9508 work the best. It doesn't work with IP phones. Haven't tryied with 14xx phones but they are digital and should work.

Dermis and feline can be divorced by manifold methods.*

For different ring tones for Groups vs. other calls, you're going to need to use 14xx or 16xx phones

System/Telephony/Ring Tone
Configuration settings
Used to configure distinct ring tones for groups and incoming call routes. Ring Tone configuration is only supported on 1400 series and 9500 series phones.

Depending on the URI configuration the ICR can be completely ignored.

If your URI is configured to use internal data then the IP Office will look into the user's SIP tab and if you have *'s it will look into ICR.

It is supposed to work for the new J169/J179 phones but obviously you need R11.0 too...

Thank you; do I need additional licenses to use the 9500 , 14xx or 16xx series phones ?

Dan

no Just digital ports or ip endpoint licenses.
95xx or 14xx=digital
16xx or 96xx= generally IP phones.

Does the Avaya 9508 require a digital card on the IP Office ? I have 2 TCM8 cards only.

Yes It uses a DS port. You would find them on:
1) A DS8 card (8 ports)
2) BRI Combo Card (6 ports)
3) PRI Combo card (6 ports)
4) DS 16 module (16 ports)
5) DS 30 module (30 ports)

You can only have two combo cards per IP Office. There's a minimum release for combo cards as well. Consider this before you purchase one.

Can I just get a DS8 card for now, and add it along the other 2 TCM8 cards ? I'm asume no additional licensing is required for Avaya 9508 phone to work except the DS8 card.

Thanks

yes you can. no licensing required. but a combo gives vcm channels. handy for sip.
