Different Ring Cadence for Internal and External Calls

couple questions.
first - does the distictive alert for internal\external calls on 96x1 series phones only work if classic ring tone is selected? SO far that has bee my experience.
second - If first is the case, what is the 46xxsetting parameter that needs to be set to force the ring pattern to classic vs rich
