I have tried the memo field repair method for the picture plus field problem I have, which involves saving the offending record, deleting it, and the re-importing it.It worked the first time, but when the problem happened again, the same fix doesn't work.

Re-linking the picture to the source file is quite cumbersome. As I said before, I had to move the dbf, dbt, and apr files from one disk to another. In the process, I changed the relative positions of the files and folders. At first, the photos showed up in the files just fine. When I double clicked on them to open the picture in MS Paint, the message OLE server busy displayed. I went through almost 700 records and went to edit, picture, import, and then selected the picture file to go with the record. Even though it is the same picture as before, double clicking it produced no error message. To get the source photo to open in MS Paint, I had to go to create object, bitmap, object, link to file, browse for file. The linked photo appears in the PP field, and the source picture opens in MS Paint. When I try to move to the next record, that is when the failure to update the database error occurs (-1035).

This project I am working on is about trees, but computers have already delayed it for weeks. Please help.

The -1035 error means that the .DBT file has reached its limit of 2GB. This cannot be changed. You cannot add more pictures to your database.

One alternative is to store the pictures in separate files and display them on forms with a script. This technique is shown by example in the XpertSS Free Downloads "APR-PIC" item.

Go to and enter "picture" in the title field to search for this example.
