I am looking to put a page on my website so that people can type in their name and a Password and it will take them to a page that I have set aside just for their name? Is there any programs or software or html out there that do this? Thank you for your advice on this subject.

Thank you,
Fishin4snook. [sig][/sig]

do you want to have just the persons name on the page, (ie on hotmail, it says your e-mail address at the top of the page, but each page has the same layout) or do you want to have a COMPLETLY different page for each person?

Please describe what you want to be different about each users page?

I can help with either of these, but they are both long explainations, and I would rather not post both of them. E-mail me if you know of any little known events and/or methods, etc.[/sig]

I am looking to have a completely different layout for each of the people, EG: a golf website where I list lesson points for each of our customers... ... [sig][/sig]

of course, you picked the harder of the two. (on your end, that is) You will have to create a page for each user, and dynamcially direct the user to his page. you could do it with javascript, (this script is probably the most secure js password protection, but a good perl/cgi password is always better)

first goto and create your files, (and you should use IE 5.0 if possable) then come back here, and tell me what happened. A page comes up that takes me to member login and account benefits. [sig][/sig]

Probably the simplest approach would be to password protect sub-directories - one for each different user. That way you could create an actual website contained by the sub-directory, for each, if desired. Whenever a user initially tried ot access the subdirectory they would be prompted for a user name and password. [sig][/sig]
