Hi,
I'd like to know why I will get a different MAC address from ifconfig and /var/adm/syslog on a single NIC? From ifconfig it showed 00:ff:46:93:00:ff, but syslog showed another. I am sure that the MAC shown by ifconfig is wrong since I've checked IEEE site and couldn't search any company which using 00-ff-46 and on every reboot the address was different! I think the MAC shown from syslog is correct (00:c0:df, by co. KYE group) but why ifconfig uses a different one once reboot?
Should I unlink the currect NIC driver from netconfig and install a newer one?
I can't think of any reason why my OpenServer 5.0.5 will suddently freeze all telnet sessions and need to reboot except this conflicted MAC address problem...
