Different desktop setting with differtent loginnames

Out notebookusers need to logon to our domain when they are connected to the NT4 server and they must logon localy when not connected to the server.
The problem is that there are two different desktops in this case and that is big problem for them.
So how can we keep the same desktop settings and logon to two different 'domains' (NT4 and localy)????

Create 2 roaming profiles an set them to be stored in the same folder on the laptop.

Ps you can logon as a domain user without being connected to the domain controller
