Hi,
I know the method to change db at runtime. I also know that the 2 databases have to be equal. Now I wonder if also the caption of the field of the db (i use Access) must to be equal, and if it is different for only a coma, or a blank space, is it possible that the report don't work?
I use VB 6 and CR8.5.
This is the error in the event.log:
26/05/2003, 10.52.43, 4, 0, C:\PAAMS\Preparation\Report\Essay-Scenario-Detail.rpt:Failed to export the report.
26/05/2003, 10.52.43, 4, 0, C:\PAAMS\Preparation\Report\Essay-Scenario-Detail.rpt:Error detected by database DLL.

By caption of the field, do you mean the column name?

They should be the same.

You can create a Query in MS-Access and correct the names using aliases, then point to that rather than the table name.

Hope this resolves.

No, no.
Sorry for my English, but for caption I mean the description of the field, not the name.
Thanks

The description of the field shouldn't matter, but based on your results, you may have some other differences there.

Did you consider my solution of creating a Query in MS Access that reflects the exact same column names? This adds other advantages such as performing any conversions or formatting on the database side.

Your English is pretty good, you do as well as many here, including myself ;)

No, I resolved the problem by making a copy o f the db and then I inserted all the test data that I inserted before. Then I have verified the database from CR and all is ok.
Thanks.
Bye
