Why is it that when I add a chart that the chart appears differently in Design and Preview Mode?

In design mode, the chart serves as a place holder. The only things that will be the same are your titles and chart type.

Is there any way to change the labels in these charts like you would in an Excel chart? I have tried in the Chart Analyzer, however, it did not help. Thanks for the feedback ;)

For version 8 (I'm not sure if it's the same in earlier versions)right click in the chart area and pick the "Format Chart-> Titles..." option.

OR

In the Format menu, goto Chart... (not Chart Expert) This should give you what your looking for.

What about the legend? Is there anyway to change these labels? The existing labels that Crystal places on the chart area, such as "Count of TABLENAME.FIELD" I would like to say something different. Any suggestions? Thanks again ;)

I couldn't find an eay to change the legend (the info describing what each color represents), but if you want to change the other titles (the things not in the legend), use the method I have described above.

In this part of my first post
In the Format menu, goto Chart... (not Chart Expert)

I should have mentioned picking the "Text" tab

To change the legend titles, I usually create a formula that calculates the data I want to plot, I plot the formula in the chart and the name I give the formula will be displayed in the legend. The only downside is that "@" is displayed before every formula name, so you'll see it in the legend too.
