Hi

I am currently at the end of a 210 course with the exam due mid January next year. I chose to take this course to give me experience in using Win 2000, however I see that the 270 will give me knowledge of XP.

What are the major differences between the 2 exams?

Will the majority of the 270 be the same as the 210; i.e. TCP/IP, User Groups, Installing OS, DNS, etc?

If so, then (fingers crossed) I can self study for the 270 on my XP PC at home.

All answers welcome.

There are a couple of things that will be different. First 210 is based on Windows 2000, and 270 is based on Windows XP.

Also the 270 exam isn't good towards the 2000 MCSA and 2000 MCSE. If you are going for the Windows 2000 track then 270 will do you no good.

From what I remember of the 270 test there were some XP specific things in there. There is also a lot of AD stuff on the exam, so you'll need to be farmiller with Windows 2003 AD as well.

Thank you mrdenny for that reply.

I was thinking of taking the 270 for use towards the MCSA 2003 track.
