Difference in the Rel.2 and Rel.3 - M3904 phones???

Can someone please tell me what the difference in the M3904 Rel.2 and Rel.3 phones are? Is it just the level of software that they will work on? or are there features that are also different? Customer asking for Rel.3 but do they really have to have Rel.3 - is what I am trying to figure out.

We were told by our vendor if you are going to use a tapi than have release 3. So yes it can make a difference.

Which describes in detail that the phase 2 sets are Manufacture Discontinued
