Hi Gurus,

Can any one tell me the difference between the Informatica and oracle sequence Generator.

There isn't a lot of difference. They both do a similar job: they are just implementations of the same thing in different tools.

It would probably be faster to use an Informatica sequence generator than to keep going back to the database to get an Oracle sequence, but the Oracle sequence has the advantage that it can be used inside a database trigger. This means that the sequence is always populated, no matter what program is used to insert the row. The other drawback of the Informatica sequence is that the 4-byte upper limit is a bit low for some applications.
