Whats the difference between the full version of Windows 98 SE, not OEM, and the Windows 98 SE upgrade that you can install over Windows 95?

Thanks,
JaCeW

Nothing, except price.
The upgrade was cheaper because you already own a qualifying MS product.

I would have to say that is an interesting question...because you can do an upgrade with a full retail version of 98 SE...the only difference i see is that the upgrade version will ask for a qualifying product as to where full does not

So if the installers are different, can you uninstall and reinstall specific windows components from the upgrade disk?

Just the initial install is different, when you first run the setup for Windows. Everything else is identical once Windows is installed, including uninstalling/reinstalling Windows components.

The only difference...
Full Win98 will NOT do an upgrade, without a little trick renaming win.com
Upgrade will NOT do a full install, unless you already own a qualifying product, and have it's CD.
Only the initial method of installation is different, everything else is identical.

Jim

beg to differ FULL RETAIL will do an upgrade without renaming anything...FULL OEM will NOT
