Hey everybody,

i just have installed on my AIX Workstation "Qchecker" nodelocked. This was not so difficult. Now we have the concurent licence of QChecker here and i don´t know how to install QChecker as concurent, and how to activate the product on the other workstations we have.

any ideas?

many thanks for help

greetings gerhard

hi,
I dont know QChecker product, bu, googling it, I saw
has to do with Catia, and this is my field.
Probably you can use LUM (Licensing Use Runtime)

You can find it on aix 433 CD if it is not installed.

Elect a ws as License server (the one for which you
have license) and as root go in /var/ifor

run ./i4cfg and configure this node as License Server
Use Direct Binding, and write your node name as NetworkLS.

run ./i4blt and in Menu choice Produc/Enroll : pressing
Import button, browse for *.lic file coming as license
(If you have not this file, but you have just paper or electronic infomation about license, fill manually the
fields). After press OK, you have to see uno more row in
in your license.

Always as root, go at client and run /var/ifor/i4cfg :
configure them as License Client, and in Direct binding put
as Network LS, the name or IP adress of your license server.

If you have Catia, and you already use concurrent licensing
mode to use Catia, you have only to perform the ./i4blt step.

Say me if I have understood something !

bye

dear victorv,
many thanks for your reply.
Problem is,when is type in "./i4blt " the message comes
"Error: can´t open display:

greetings gerhard

hi,

i4blt program requires a graphic display:

the easiest mode is to enter as root at login Welcome panel
in the console.

If this is not possible, (remote system and you must enter
by e telnet or you have to enter in "login" session)
(however you have to enter as root), or you have not
graphic console, say me your situation and I will try to solve.

bye

gerhard,

if you are logging from any other machine using rsh or rlogin, set the DISPLAY variable to that machine and export it.
eg: DISPLAY IP_Address_of_the_cliet:0.0 (set according to which shell u r using)

run the commands as given by victorv.

it shud be pretty easy as the data are prompted. make sure you maintain the case in the license given. try to get the electonic version so that u can easily cut n paste. Typing it from a paper is cumbersome.

good luck.
