What is the difference between Multiple instance on the same database n Oracle parallel server.
I also want to know more about running multiple instances
on the same database. I already have a datbase , n want to
configure it for multiple instances, how can i comminicate etc.

Without OPS, you can only have one instance mounting the database at any given time. Consequently, if you have one instance configured for running batch jobs and another instance configured for running OLTP operations, you will have to decide when you want a particular instance to be running, shut down the database, then reopen it using the appropriate init.ora file.

With OPS, you can have multiple instances mounting the same database simultaneously.
