Difference between Info desktop and CE.

Hi,

I’m hoping you can help me better understand Crystal Enterprise. At the present time our users are using Info desktop to run/schedule and view reports. Does CE replace Info on the desktop or is it and it’s tools only installed on the server? If it is installed on just the server how would our users schedule/view reports on their desktops? Our reports are basis on views and the views holds the security. Does CE use views?

CE is just installed on the server. Users connect to it to view reports over the web, so the clients only need to have a browser installed.

CR views are compatible with CE. CE retains most of the functionality of Info, but there are some aspects (like the business calendar, for instance) which you'll miss. A lot of Info functionality was put back into CE in v8.5, so there's a good chance that v9 will contain more.
